Each year we gave our son an ornament that represented something special about the year. Our goal was to give the collection to him when he married. He’s on his own now, and was married in April 2020. We presented him with all his ornaments and gave him one last keepsake, from us, as a single man the year he got engaged. Each ornament has a wooden tag where I recorded the year and what the ornament meant. It was a special night full of memories!
Tip for parents from my friend, Amy: Buy 2 of each ornament! Otherwise, you won’t want to give them away! We did this, and I am so glad. You keep a set and you give the other set to your grown child. Win/Win!
