We already talked about the first step of meal planning, which I will repeat. Make a list of everything you have in the house. Once you see your inventory, ideas of what you can make will begin to pop into your head. If they do not you can plug the ingredients into a website and recipe ideas will pop up. As your brain gets more creative you will begin to learn the foods you like and do not like. Once you master this step, planning your weekly menu becomes easier. If a person enjoys simple eating, then stick with meals like grilled chicken breast, steamed rice, and roasted baby carrots. Or a hamburger patty with mashed potatoes and asparagus. If someone is more of a foodie, then invest a couple of hours at the beginning of the week to get creative as you build recipes using your inventory. If you do not enjoy cooking and mealtime is just a necessary part of your job, then do not stress. Keep it simple. Chefs do this, too!
