Geneses 2:18: “It is not good for man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”
I was reminded this Sunday, when you go back to the original meaning of certain words in the Bible, you gain a deeper understanding of God’s plan for our lives. The Hebrew word for helper is azar. Azar means: ally; to supply what was lacking.
When God created woman, he made us allies with our husbands. He gave us strengths to balance out our husband’s weaknesses, just as his strengths can make up for our weaknesses.
A sport has different people playing different roles, based on their strengths and weaknesses, with the goal being to create a winning team. In your marriage, become an ally, and you will soon be reaching for the gold!
