WHAT I LEARNED WHEN I READ THE BIBLE
It is in Genesis 17:1-8 that God changes Abram’s name to Abraham, which means “father of a multitude.” God promised that Abraham’s descendants would become great nations. Kings shall come from his descendants. God said He would establish His covenant with Abraham, and it would be everlasting. Part of the covenant included all the land of Canaan “for an everlasting possession.” Where is Canaan today? The boundaries of the Promised Land were from the River of Egypt (the Nile) to the Euphrates (Exodus 23:31).
